# Reconciliations

> Compare custodian statements with InvestSync and manage outstanding reviews

## Overview

The Reconciliations page brings your portfolio statement reviews into one register. Open **Investments > Reconciliations**, or select **Reconciliations** from the Finance workspace.

Use this page to see which statements are still being prepared, which need review, which have been completed and which could not be processed.

## Start a reconciliation

Choose **Start reconciliation** and upload a custodian statement or portfolio report. InvestSync reads the document, identifies the account and statement period, then compares the holdings and transactions with your existing portfolio.

The reconciliation appears in the register after processing begins. You can return to the register while a larger statement is being prepared.

## Continue outstanding work

The status summary shows reconciliations grouped into:

* **Needs review** for statements with matches, missing activity or other exceptions requiring a decision.
* **In progress** for statements that are still being read, matched or saved.
* **Completed** for reconciliations that have been confirmed and applied.
* **Failed** for files that could not be prepared as portfolio reconciliations.

Use the status filters to focus the register. Select **Review** or **Resume** to continue an outstanding reconciliation. Completed reconciliations remain available as a review record.

## Understand the register

Each reconciliation shows the custodian or statement name, account, reporting period, current status and who started the work. Where available, the Attention column shows how many findings still require review.

The register combines reconciliations created from document uploads and supported email automation, so the finance team can continue the same review workflow regardless of how the statement arrived.
