What is InvestSync?

InvestSync helps finance and investment teams keep portfolios, documents, accounting links, and follow-up work in one place. Use it to:
  • Maintain separate workspaces for each organisation, trust, fund, company, or client group.
  • Store and review investment documents.
  • Track holdings, transactions, performance, and supporting evidence.
  • Connect everyday finance tools such as Xero, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft calendars.
  • Group investments with tags such as liquidity, strategy, risk, entity, or reporting treatment.

How InvestSync is organised

An organisation is the main workspace. Each organisation has its own members, settings, documents, investments, reporting currency, tax details, tags, and integrations. Most teams create one organisation per reporting group, such as:
  • A family trust
  • A company investment portfolio
  • A fund
  • A client group
  • A personal portfolio
If you work across several organisations, use the organisation switcher to move between them. The switcher shows up to five organisations at once in alphabetical order. Search by organisation name to find any others you can access. The bottom of the workspace sidebar shows your signed-in account. Open it to confirm you are using the right profile, review account settings or notifications, or sign out.

Moving around the workspace

The workspace sidebar groups related areas so you can find them quickly:
  • Portfolio contains the dashboard, investments, transactions, custodians, news, and the capital calendar.
  • Review and plan contains reports, tax work, planning, goals, Planning Workspace, and tasks.
  • Workspace contains Assistant, documents, and the email inbox.
  • Manage contains organisation, investment, document, email, integration, and data audit settings.
The current area is highlighted. Sections with more choices can be opened or closed, and the Add investment shortcut stays near the top of the sidebar. Reports you have starred appear together under Starred reports. On a smaller screen, open the sidebar from the menu button in the page header. It closes after you choose a destination so the selected page has the full screen. On desktop, you can collapse the sidebar to icons; hover over or focus an icon to see its label or open its menu. Desktop spacing stays compact so more destinations remain visible without scrolling. In dark mode, menus opened from the sidebar use the same dark background to keep the workspace visually consistent. When you open another area, InvestSync keeps the workspace frame in place and shows structured placeholders while records load. This helps you stay oriented in the right organisation while reports, documents, planning views, and other larger sections prepare. On secure screens, the page frame can appear first while your account-specific records finish loading. This keeps navigation responsive without showing another user’s information. When you return to a recently used area, InvestSync may keep useful screen context such as filters, open panels, or draft entries so you can continue where you left off. Your browser tab shows the current page, organisation name, and InvestSync — for example, Dashboard - Kahu Advisors - InvestSync. The title updates as you move between areas, making it easier to tell which workspace you are using when several tabs are open.

Work across web and mobile

Use the web app for detailed portfolio work such as adding investments, reviewing extracted records, planning allocations, preparing report packs, and managing organisation settings. Use the InvestSync app on iPhone, iPad, or Android when you need a focused review away from your desk. You can check organisations, open portfolio and transaction detail, review reports and news, continue Planning Workspace discussions, respond to approval requests, and ask Assistant questions using the same account access. Your organisation access follows you across both experiences. On mobile, you can also hide balances and choose device biometrics, an authenticator code, or no extra app lock. InvestSync follows your preferred light or dark appearance throughout the workspace, including organisation, investment, document, email, integration, and member settings.

Basic and advanced use

  • Basic use: keep one organisation up to date with investments, transactions, documents, and reports.
  • Advanced use: manage several organisations, connect accounting and document storage tools, use tags for reporting, and prepare recurring report packs.
  1. Create or choose the right organisation.
  2. Confirm the organisation name, country, reporting currency, balance month, and tax details in Settings → Organisation.
  3. Invite the team members who need access.
  4. Add investment categories, entities, and any tags your reporting process relies on.
  5. Connect Xero if you want accounting sync.
  6. Choose document storage: InvestSync managed, Google Drive, or Microsoft SharePoint.
  7. Upload documents or add investments and transactions manually.

If something goes wrong

If InvestSync shows an unexpected error message, refresh the page and try the action again. Our team is notified automatically so we can review the issue. If the same issue keeps happening, contact support with the organisation name, the page you were using, and what you were trying to do.
