Overview

The InvestSync mobile app gives you a focused way to review organisations while away from the desk. Use it for quick checks, meeting preparation, news alerts, Planning Workspace discussions, reports, and Assistant questions. The mobile app uses the same account and organisation access as the web app.

Sign in and unlock

Sign in with your email, password, and the 6-digit authenticator code you use for InvestSync on the web. After your first sign-in on a device, choose how the app unlocks. InvestSync shows the options available on your device:
  • Device biometrics, such as Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or face recognition, when available.
  • Authenticator code if your account has two-factor authentication enabled.
  • Continue without app lock if you prefer to open the app without an extra lock.
You can change this later in Settings → Security.

Review your organisations

The first screen shows the organisations you can access. Open an organisation to review Dashboard, Portfolio, Reports, News, Planning Workspace, and Assistant. Use Hide balances in Settings when you want to work in a shared space. The mobile app masks portfolio totals, investment values and performance, and transaction amounts and quantities across the Dashboard and Portfolio screens until you turn the setting off. On the Dashboard, Net cash flow shows money added to the portfolio less money returned during the selected period. Investment return shows the portfolio result after allowing for that activity. Both amounts continue to calculate for the selected period. A matching return percentage appears when the recorded timing supports it. The Dashboard also shows the latest valuation date and stays uncluttered when other period movement information is incomplete. In Portfolio, investments are shown by their investment name so holdings are easy to recognise without relying on internal short codes.

Use Planning Workspace

Open an organisation and tap Planning Workspace to read or continue the same discussions available on the web. Messages keep useful paragraph and list spacing, while pasted formatting is cleaned up so mentions and longer notes remain easy to read. When creating a discussion or writing a reply, tap the add button and choose Add reference. You can link organisation news, transactions, saved AI chats, and documents. For an investment discussion, matching records appear first; search to look across the wider organisation. Review the dates and financial details shown before selecting an item. Linked references stay with the message, and you can tap them later to open the news item, transaction, AI chat, or document preview. A saved AI chat added to a shared discussion is shared read-only with the people who can view that discussion.

Review news on iPhone and iPad

On iPhone or iPad, open an organisation and tap News. Each item shows when it was added to InvestSync. When a response or decision has a deadline, the Action by date is also shown. News is sorted by Date added by default. Use Sort and choose Action by to bring the earliest deadlines to the top. Switch back to Date added to return to the standard order.

Review reports

Open an organisation and tap Reports. Choose Standard to review the mobile Daily returns and Investment map reports, or choose Published to find reports that have already been shared. Under Published, search by report name, pack name, section name, or creator. Tap a result to open the fixed, interactive report and move through its published sections. Select Download PDF to open the PDF copy. From there, use your device’s sharing options to save the file or share it with someone else. Published reports are fixed snapshots. Changes made to the portfolio after publication do not change an existing report, so use a newer published report when you need updated information.

Review portfolio transactions

Open Portfolio → Transactions to see the organisation’s transaction history grouped by month. Use the type filters to focus on buys, sells, income, fees, or other activity. Tap a transaction to see its full details, including the investment, date, type, units, amounts, fees, FX rate, income details where relevant, and source reference information. If source documents are linked to the transaction, they appear in the Documents section. Tap a document to open it on your device for review.

Usage insights

InvestSync records simple mobile app usage, such as which screens are opened and the organisation they relate to when relevant. This helps us understand which areas are most useful and where the mobile experience can be improved. This usage tracking does not record portfolio values, search text, Planning Workspace discussions, Assistant questions, documents, passwords, or authenticator codes.

Mobile settings

Open Settings to adjust the app’s appearance, hide balances, manage haptic feedback, control notifications, change the app lock, manage your account, and find help or legal links. Under Personalisation, choose System, Light, or Dark appearance and select the accent colour you prefer. Your personalisation choices are saved to your InvestSync account and are restored when you reopen the app or sign in on another device.

Notifications

Use Settings → Notifications to choose whether InvestSync can send alerts to this device. You can also set news notification preferences by organisation, including the importance level that should trigger an alert. On iPhone and iPad, tap a news alert to open that news item in the correct organisation. InvestSync asks for notification permission only after you turn notifications on in Settings. If notifications are blocked in your device settings, InvestSync will show that in the mobile settings screen. When a notification needs a decision, tap it to open the approval screen in the mobile app. You can review the investment, owning entity, transaction details, and any related news before choosing Approve or Reject. Approval notifications include the investment and entity name where available, so you can tell which portfolio item needs attention before opening it. Screens and system prompts may look slightly different between iOS and Android, but your organisations, preferences, Planning Workspace discussions, reports, and Assistant conversations stay connected to the same InvestSync account.

Ask the Assistant

Open an organisation and tap Assistant. When you ask about allocation, diversification, or how a possible investment may fit, the Assistant uses the active organisation’s recorded portfolio, including individual investments, categories and subcategories, currencies, and the latest recorded values. You can also select Ask Assistant from an investment, a transaction, or the Daily returns report. The app prepares a question using the item and period you are viewing, then opens it in the correct organisation so you can review or change the wording before sending. If Hide balances is on, the prepared question does not include the displayed dollar amount. For period questions, it can also review daily values and the organisation’s recorded purchases, sales, income, fees, repayments, and other activity. Where available, it can take account of the organisation’s goals, risk setting, active allocation plan, and benchmarks. The context line above the conversation shows the organisation, reporting currency, as at date, and whether any valuations are missing or older than expected. Missing values are not counted as zero. Keep those records up to date, and check important figures against the Dashboard, Transactions, or Reports before making a decision. For a very large portfolio or a long period, opening and closing totals still use the relevant recorded value for every investment, while intermediate chart points and detailed holding lists may be shortened and labelled as sampled detail. If there is too much transaction activity to calculate a dependable return in one answer, or a transaction is newer than its related valuation, the Assistant marks the period as incomplete instead of estimating it. Update the daily values, narrow the period, or name the investment in your question when you need a more specific check. Turn Web on when current market or company information needs external research, including listed-security market data. Source links appear with the answer so you can open and check them. Web starts off when you open a saved conversation, and cannot be changed while an answer is being prepared. Retry and Continue keep the setting used for the original question. With Web off, the Assistant does not send research terms to website or listed-security providers. You can stop a response while it is being prepared. If a response is interrupted or reaches its limit, the app labels it as incomplete and offers the appropriate Retry or Continue action. If a question cannot simply be retried, the app returns it to the question field and explains what to check. You can edit the wording, sign in again, check your organisation access, or start a new conversation as directed. If the saved question used an attachment, Retry and Continue are unavailable after reopening the conversation because the attachment itself is not kept in chat history. Ask the question again and add the file from a device that supports uploads. Long histories open at the latest message and load in manageable groups. Select Load more conversations at the end of the Assistant history, or Load earlier messages at the top of a conversation, when those options appear. Use the conversation menu to delete a saved conversation from your account. Deleted conversations cannot be restored. When Hide balances is on, Assistant conversation titles, previews, questions, and answers are concealed. A compact Reveal message row lets you show only the individual message you need after opening a conversation.

Assistant disclosure

The first time you ask the Assistant a question on mobile, InvestSync explains that your question, recent conversation, and relevant portfolio context are sent to an AI provider so the answer can be prepared. Continue only if you are comfortable with that use. Avoid adding anything to the question that you do not want processed by the Assistant. Assistant responses are informational and are not financial advice. Check important figures and decisions against your source records and professional advice where appropriate. Your choice is saved for the InvestSync account that is signed in. If a different account signs in on the same device, that person sees the disclosure and makes their own choice.

Help, privacy, and account management

Open Settings → Help and legal to view the Privacy policy, Terms of service, or contact support. Open Settings → Account to review your account settings on the web. On iPhone and iPad, select Delete account to start permanent account deletion without signing in again in a browser. Review the warning, then select Delete permanently to confirm. If you manage an organisation with an active subscription, you may need to transfer ownership or cancel the subscription first. InvestSync explains what needs to be resolved if the account cannot be deleted. After successful deletion, you are signed out on that device.
